The Paris Olympics will open on July 26th, and among the 405 athletes representing China, our city's pole vaulter Li Ling is among them. This is her fifth dream Olympic competition after the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2012 London Olympics, 2016 Rio Olympics, and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
It is reported that Li Ling was born in 1989 and began participating in track and field training in 2001. At the end of 2003, she was registered with the Ningbo Sports Engineering Brigade as an introduced athlete in our city. She has participated in the Asian Games four times, won three gold and one silver medals, and has been crowned the champion of the Asian Championships four times. She holds the Asian record for women's pole vault height of 4.72 meters and is currently the undisputed "queen" of pole vault in Asia.
According to the schedule, the athletics events of the Paris Olympics will start on August 1st and end on August 11th, producing a total of 48 gold medals. The final of the women's pole vault will be held on August 9th.
